Transcribe
On-deviceTranscribe audio and video into text for free, entirely on your device. Arabic (تفريغ صوتي عربي) is the tool's focus and is fully supported, but clear, close-to-standard speech transcribes far better than dialect — expect to correct a dialectal or noisy recording. Upload a file or record from your microphone, get timestamped captions you can edit right on your device, then export as TXT, SRT, or VTT. No uploads, no account — and it keeps working offline once the model has downloaded once.
About this tool
What you provide
- An audio or video file, or a recording made with your microphone.
- The spoken language, and a model size: tiny, base or small.
What you get
- A timestamped transcript you can play back and edit line by line.
- An export as TXT, SRT or VTT.
Limits
- The model downloads once before the first run — 41 MB (tiny), 80 MB (base) or 249 MB (small).
- Arabic is noticeably more accurate with the small model, which is a much larger download and much slower on phones.
- Dialect, background noise and phone-quality audio come out much rougher than clear, close-to-standard speech — expect to correct the transcript.
- Everything runs on your device, so speed depends on it; without WebGPU it falls back to a slower compatibility engine.
How to use it
-
Add your audio
On the Upload file tab, drop an audio or video file, or switch to the Record tab, record from your microphone and tap Use this recording.
-
Choose model and language
Pick Base, Tiny or Small (best Arabic), then set Language to the language actually spoken in the recording.
-
Download the model
Tap Download engine, whose label carries the size — 41 MB for Tiny, 80 MB for Base, 249 MB for Small — to fetch the chosen model once, after which it stays cached.
-
Run the transcription
Tap Transcribe and wait while the audio is processed on your device; the elapsed time is shown and timestamped lines appear when it finishes.
-
Edit and export
Tap a timestamp to play that line, correct the text in place, then export TXT, SRT or VTT, or use Copy transcript.
