About this tool

What you provide

  • A photo in any format your device can decode — JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF.
  • A piece count — 12, 24, 48, 100 or 300, or a custom count from 6 to 500 — and a piece style, classic interlocking or simple grid.

What you get

  • An interactive on-screen puzzle: a scrollable, zoomable board plus a tray of shuffled pieces, played by drag-and-drop or keyboard.

Limits

  • Piece count is capped by the current screen width (48 on a small phone, 100 on a mid-size screen, up to 300 on a larger one) — the setup screen disables Play and suggests a smaller count above that cap.
  • Print mode exports a real, ready-to-cut PDF with piece outlines and page-alignment marks — a large puzzle spans many print sheets, so it prints best on card stock and needs careful alignment where the sheets join.
  • Only one puzzle's progress is auto-saved at a time — starting a new puzzle replaces the saved one.

How to use it

  1. Add a photo

    Upload the photo you want turned into a puzzle — it stays on your device the whole time.

  2. Pick a piece count

    Choose 12 to 300 pieces, or set a custom count. On a small screen the tool caps the choice and suggests a smaller number instead.

  3. Choose a piece shape

    Pick classic interlocking tabs for a traditional feel, or a simple straight-cut grid.

  4. Solve the puzzle

    Drag tray pieces onto the board — each one snaps into place once it's close enough to where it belongs, or use the keyboard to select and place pieces one at a time.

  5. Pick up where you left off

    Close the tab whenever you like; the tool remembers your progress and offers to resume it the next time you open this page.

Frequently asked questions

Does my photo get uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is cut into pieces and the whole puzzle is played on your device; nothing is sent to a server, and the tool works offline once the page has loaded.

What happens if I close the tab mid-puzzle?

Your progress — piece positions, timer, move count and hints used — is saved automatically to this device. Open the tool again and it offers to resume exactly where you left off.

Why can't I pick 300 pieces on my phone?

On a small screen, 300 pieces are too small to tell apart or drag accurately, so the setup screen caps the piece count to what the current screen size can show comfortably and suggests a smaller count instead.

Can I play without a mouse or touchscreen?

Yes. Tab to a tray piece and press Enter to pick it up, arrow through the board to the target cell, and press Enter again to place it — every piece can be placed this way, and placement results are announced for screen readers.

What's the difference between the two piece styles?

"Classic interlocking" cuts pieces with rounded tabs and blanks, like a physical jigsaw. "Simple grid" cuts plain straight-edged squares, which can be easier to tell apart at a high piece count.
