Photo Styles

On-device

Turn a photo into a pencil sketch or a painterly style — processed entirely on your device.

Preview pencil-sketch and painterly styles on your own photo before choosing one, adjust detail and softness, then download the full-resolution result. Nothing is uploaded — the image is processed on your device.

About this tool

What you provide

  • A photo in any format your device can decode — JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF.
  • A chosen style, plus its Detail and Softness sliders (0-100%).

What you get

  • A styled JPEG photo at up to 2000 px on the longer side, downloaded to the device.

Limits

  • Only Pencil sketch (colour) and Painterly render today; Pencil sketch (grey), Cartoon, Halftone and Edge sketch are shown but disabled until the underlying engine supports them.
  • Requires a one-time ~4 MB engine download before any style can render.
  • Very large photos are downscaled to 2000 px on the longer side before styling, to keep processing fast on your device.

How to use it

  1. Choose a photo

Pick any image from your device. It is read on your device and never uploaded.

  2. Download the styling engine

The first time, tap the one-time ~4 MB download. It runs entirely on your device and is cached for next time.

  3. Pick a style

Pencil sketch (colour) and Painterly render your own photo in the strip; the other styles are marked Coming soon and are not selectable yet.

  4. Adjust Detail and Softness

Open Adjust to fine-tune how much texture the style keeps and how strongly it smooths edges and colours.

  5. Download the result

Save the styled photo at full resolution to your device.

Frequently asked questions

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. The photo is read and styled on your device; nothing is sent to a server. A small one-time engine download (about 4 MB) is required the first time, after which the tool works offline.

Why are some styles greyed out?

Only "Pencil sketch (colour)" and "Painterly" are available today. The others are declared in the tool but the underlying engine doesn't implement them yet, so they show "Coming soon" rather than a broken or substituted result.

What do the Detail and Softness sliders control?

Detail controls how much fine texture the style keeps, and Softness controls how strongly edges and colours are smoothed. Both are plain sliders from 0 to 100 — no technical settings to understand.

What resolution is the downloaded photo?

Up to about 2000 pixels on the longer side, which keeps processing fast on your device while staying sharp for sharing or printing at normal sizes.
