Compress Video
Shrink a video to hit a target size — 25 MB for email, 16 MB for WhatsApp, or a custom limit — or pick a quality preset. Two-pass encoding never ships a file larger than your original. Works entirely on your device.
About this tool
What you provide
- A video file (MP4, MOV or WebM)
- A target size — 25 MB for email, 16 MB for WhatsApp, or a custom number of MB
- Or a quality preset instead: low, medium or high
What you get
- A compressed MP4
- The file size before and after
Limits
- Target-size presets also scale the video down to 720p.
- If the result would be larger than the original, your original file is kept.
- A target too small for the video's length is refused rather than attempted.
- Videos longer than 5 minutes on a phone or 15 minutes on a computer are refused — trim first.
How to use it
-
Add your video
Drop an MP4, MOV or WebM file onto the dropzone — a preview loads so the tool can read the duration.
-
Pick a target
Choose "Email (25 MB)", "WhatsApp (16 MB)", "Custom MB", or switch to "Quality" to compress without a size target.
-
Set the value
With Custom MB, type the target size in megabytes; with Quality, choose Low, Medium or High.
-
Compress and save
Tap "Compress Video" — the size before and after is shown when it finishes — then tap "Save / Share".
Frequently asked questions

Is the video compressor free?
Yes, it's free with no signup required.
Does compressing my video mean uploading it to a server?
No, compression runs entirely on your device and your video file is never uploaded.
