Arabic text utilities New
Numerals, diacritics, counter, normalize
Four Arabic text tools in one: convert between Arabic-Indic and Western numerals, strip tashkeel diacritics, count characters/words with an honest UCS-2 SMS segment counter and an X/280 weighted count, and normalize letter forms for search. All on your device.
About this tool
What you provide
- Arabic or mixed text pasted or typed into the box
- Which utility you want: numerals, diacritics, counter or normalize
- Which transforms to apply — unify alef forms, ى → ي, ة → ه
What you get
- The text converted between Arabic-Indic (٠-٩) and Western (0-9) digits, either direction
- The text with diacritics and tatweel removed, or with letter forms unified
- Character, word, SMS-segment and X/280 weighted counts
Limits
- Letter normalization is for search and matching, not for formal writing.
- The SMS counter treats any text containing a non-ASCII character as UCS-2: 70 characters per message, 67 when linked.
- Runs entirely on your device; the text is never uploaded.
How to use it
-
Paste your text
Type or paste into the Text box; the same text stays there as you move between tabs.
-
Pick a tab
Choose Numerals, Diacritics, Counter or Normalize.
-
Apply the transform
On Numerals the "To Western (0-9)" and "To Arabic-Indic (٠-٩)" buttons rewrite the box; Diacritics ("Strip diacritics", "Remove tatweel") and Normalize ("Unify alef forms", "ى → ي", "ة → ه") update their output as you tick; Counter shows the character, word, SMS-segment and X/280 chips.
-
Copy the result
Press Copy on the Numerals, Diacritics or Normalize tab to put the resulting text on your clipboard.

Yes, the diacritics feature is one of the utilities included alongside numeral conversion, a character counter, and text normalization.
Does this Arabic text tool upload my text anywhere?
