Dates are calculated using the Umm al-Qura calendar. The actual start depends on official moon sighting and may differ by a day.

Seconds are left out on purpose — on a countdown measured in weeks they are noise.

Calculated on your device with the Umm al-Qura calendar — no network request is made.

How long until Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, the Day of Arafah, Eid al-Adha, the Islamic New Year and Ashura. Every date is calculated on your device with the Umm al-Qura calendar, shown in Hijri and Gregorian side by side, with a calendar file for each event.

About this tool

What you provide

  • Nothing to type — the dates are computed from today's date on your device
  • Optionally, the event you want to export as a calendar file

What you get

  • Days, hours and minutes left until Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, the Day of Arafah, Eid al-Adha, the Islamic New Year and Ashura
  • Each date in Hijri and Gregorian side by side, with the weekday
  • An all-day .ics calendar file per event, with a one-day reminder and the moon-sighting note in its description

Limits

  • Dates are calculated with the Umm al-Qura calendar; the actual start depends on official moon sighting and may differ by a day.
  • Seconds are left out on purpose — on a countdown measured in weeks they are noise.
  • Dates outside 1900–2077 are not supported.

How to use it

  1. Read the nearest event

The page opens on the closest event with the days, hours and minutes left, its Hijri and Gregorian dates and the weekday.

  2. Promote another event

The Show button on any row under "All events" moves that event to the top, and "Show the nearest" puts the countdown back on the closest one.

  3. Add it to your calendar

"Add to calendar" saves an all-day .ics file whose description carries the moon-sighting note.

  4. Copy the line or the link

"Copy line" copies the event name, the days left and both dates, and the copy-link button gives a link that opens on the same event.

Frequently asked questions

Are these dates official?

They are calculated with the Umm al-Qura calendar. The actual start of a Hijri month depends on official moon sighting and can differ by about a day, so treat them as a close estimate.

Why is there no seconds counter?

The underlying date can move by a whole day, so counting seconds would imply a precision the calendar does not have. Days, hours and minutes are shown instead.

Can I add an event to my calendar?

Yes. Each event exports an all-day calendar file with a one-day reminder, and the moon-sighting note travels with it in the description.
